How do I use that search box in the middle of the UCNJ Libraries page?

Answer

In the middle of the UCNJ Libraries Home Page is a search box with 4 tabs on top:

OneSearch-- use this to find all types of library resources (books, eBooks, scholarly articles, magazine articles, news articles, reviews, videos, and more).

Articles-- use this to find only articles.

Books and eBooks-- use this to find only books and eBooks.

Google Scholar-- use this to search for scholarly resources on the Web. Within Google Scholar "Settings" adjust "Library Links" to type in the names of libraries at which you are a patron. Direct online access to those library subscription resources may be possible with your full log-in information.

Specifically, Google Scholar can help you locate scholarly literature within the UCNJ Libraries print and electronic resources.

Google Scholar settings--  Google is in the process of updating our institutional name change. Until they make that revision, when you type in UCNJ or Union College of Union County, NJ to link to the UCNJ Libraries resources-- you may still see it listed as Union County College.

Once you link your settings to UCNJ, if you are not already logged in to your College account, you will be prompted to authenticate with the following format:

  • For students:  firstname.lastname@owl.ucc.edu, your password.
  • For faculty and staff:  username@ucc.edu, your password.
